Buy 60kW Whole House Power Home Standby Generator Online, you can count on the more than 100 years of Briggs & Stratton experience behind the 76160 whole-house generator to supply emergency power for all your home’s critical needs, life’s necessities, and all the luxuries.
These standby generators are a permanently-installed solution to power outages, and combined with an automatic transfer switch, they require no human intervention and will start and run within seconds of sensing an outage. At home, on vacation or at work, standby generators start and run to keep your home supplied with electrical power.
Engine
Reliable GM Vortec, 5.7 liter, 8-cylinder engines power the 76160 liquid-cooled standby generators. Running at just 1800 RPM, the engine operates at half the speed of many standby generators for less wear and greater reliability. Slower running speeds mean better fuel economy, quieter operation, and longer life. Quiet operation also means a more neighborhood friendly operation.
Fuel Choices
Briggs & Stratton ships the 76160 to run on natural gas (NG). Changing the unit to run on LP gas (propane) is a simple procedure easily performed during installation.
Expect fuel usage to vary as the electrical load varies. At half-load, the 76160 will use about 5.2 gallons of LP gas per hour, or about 463 cubic feet of NG per hour. Altitude and ambient temperature also affect performance and fuel consumption. Electrical loads vary continuously, so fuel usage also varies continuously.
Backup Power
When operating on LP gas, the 60kW standby generator is capable of producing a continuous 60,000 watts of power, or 55,000 watts of power on natural gas.
Voltage regulation and frequency control are managed by the controller for a constant voltage at 60hz. This generator supplies clean power that rivals that supplied the electric utility, making it perfect for powering sensitive devices like computers.
This standby generator requires an automatic transfer switch (sold separately) for independent operation to supply power for the entire home. The transfer switch senses a power outage and signals the generator to start. After the generator is running, it switches the house to generator power within seconds after the outage occurs.
Appearance
These standby whole house power generators from Briggs & Stratton have all-metal, galvanneal steel enclosures to meet fire safety codes and provide corrosion resistance for years of service, even in corrosive coastal environments. The 60kW standby generator stands about 100 inches wide, 40 inches deep and 42 inches high and mounts on a prepared concrete pad. Produces about 62dBs of noise―less than most central air conditioner units.
